Today is a really big day in Kellie’s World! Today is the day, the book Unwavering Strength is, at last, launched. This book is a gift of love from 32 authors who willingly accepted the title and the charge to become an~ Ambassador of Unwavering Strength. The book was created in the mind and heart of Judy O’Beirn to help channel her grief when her husband, Gerry, became ill with cancer and ultimately passed away from the disease. Rather than let grief swallow her up, Judy decided to focus her energy on finding ways to help others experiencing similar loss and trauma.
Unwavering Strength is a collection of heartfelt stories by individuals who have had vastly different experiences, but a common empowering theme: The strength and power to overcome any adversity lives in each one of us and is always within reach. There are times when all of us need evidence that another human being was able, not only to move through a similar challenge, but to thrive and find the light of joy once again. This is that evidence.
Twelve years ago I “lost” my daughter and I thought I’d also lost my mind. I really couldn’t concentrate or focus. I began to journal my thoughts and emotions at some point along the road which was very therapeutic. A couple of years ago I had the good fortune to meet Judy O’Beirn. It doesn’t really matter where or when. This is part of the “mystery to be lived”! Somehow in conversation, we shared our stories. Judy told me about her idea for this book and asked if I would please write “my story”. I agreed and now I can humbly say that I am a contributing author in this beautiful project.
